This zip contains the pre-release versions of Business Data Lookup, Customer Journal , Custom Report Generator, Timesheet Management and Vacation Management snaps. These snaps increase the productivity of information workers by allowing them to access and input relevant data where and when they need. Download the file Snap_Tech_Pre-Release_V1.0_AX.zip and extract it into a folder of your choice. The docs folder contains the implementation guide and white-paper which would help you install and use this snap-in. Also refer to the Release notes file (Microsoft Dynamics Snap for Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 Office 2007 - Read Me.doc) for the list of known issues and other information related to this release.
The Customer Journal Snap-in is a handy tool for a Sales representative that helps improve the productivity of sales meetings by enabling the sales rep to view and carry relevant details of a customer (contact info, orders, service requests), which are copied over from Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 to a Microsoft Office Infopath 2007 form, to the sales meeting. He can also make changes to the customer's information and take notes using this InfoPath form during the meeting and later synch the changes back to Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 server on the click of a button.
The Custom Report Generator Snap-in for Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 which is a configurable Microsoft Excel 2007 report generator that allows a power user or an ISV to create reports by binding data from Microsoft AX 4.0. It also allows updating some of this data back into the Dynamics Ax system. The snap-in ships with example report that are useful for Finance domain.
This pre-release also comprises of the following three phase 1 snap-ins upgraded to work with Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 and Microsoft Office 2007:
